Chapter 26 They Deserve to Die
Simulation complete.
This round of simulation was also very successful.
However, the actions of that female teacher took Liu Yang by surprise.
Seeing himself being surrounded and attacked by those athletes, the female teacher actually stepped forward bravely and stood in front of him.
Although she was no match for those five athletes, at least in that situation, she neither fled nor abandoned him; instead, she tried to protect him.
This female teacher was indeed rare.
Even though what happened was only a future scenario and not reality, Liu Yang kept this kindness deeply in his heart.
He had been poor before and had never experienced anyone's goodwill.
Some say that when you succeed, everyone around you is kind and treats you with the best intentions.
But when you fail, you become a humble speck of dust; everyone tries to trample you, and all you can feel is malice.
Liu Yang had never experienced anyone’s kindness before.
This female teacher was the first.
Because of this, her kindness felt so precious and left such a profound impression on Liu Yang.
“Phew…”
Liu Yang took a deep breath.
He prepared to act according to his simulation.
But this time, he was determined that the moment he saw those athletes, he would instantly eliminate them.
The simulation began.
Liu Yang successfully gathered all the food and rescued the female teacher. As they headed toward the dormitory, they encountered the four athletes again.
“Oh? Isn’t that the little security guard Liu Yang? Didn’t expect this guy to actually be…”
Seeing the contemptuous smiles on their faces, Liu Yang didn’t waste any words.
“Crack!”
“Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!”
Five sharp sounds rang out—those athletes were instantly shot in the head. Even in their final moments, they didn’t understand what had happened.
“Ah…!” Zhao Yuting let out a scream, then quickly covered her mouth.
She remembered Liu Yang’s warning not to make any noise, or else it would attract zombies.
“Why… why did you kill them all?” Zhao Yuting asked tremblingly.
“I didn’t kill them, they would have killed me,” Liu Yang replied.
“No, they’re students of this school too, how could they just kill people like that?” Zhao Yuting said in disbelief.
Liu Yang smiled coldly and said, “They would not only kill me, but also capture you, turning you into their outlet for abuse. You would become their slave! Those five athletes could kill you in under three days!”
“No, no way!” Zhao Yuting shook her head vehemently.
She couldn’t believe human nature could sink this low.
She always believed that within a school, teachers have responsibilities—to educate, to help, to protect students in times of hardship.
And classmates should help each other; even at the end of the world, they shouldn’t turn on one another.
Only by helping each other could they overcome disaster.
But she didn’t realize how cruel reality was.
Especially in the apocalypse, you must protect yourself first.
If you don’t kill others, you will be killed.
Because resources are scarce, everyone is a competitor.
The more people searching for food, the harder it is for you to find it.
“It’s okay if you don’t believe me. I’ll take you to their base,” Liu Yang said, leading Zhao Yuting toward the sports equipment room.
During his last simulation, just before dying, he heard those athletes mention they would take Zhao Yuting to the equipment room.
Clearly, their base was there.
Soon, they arrived at the equipment room.
Opening the door, they found a naked female student chained by the neck to the security bars on the window, her hands already severed and the stumps tightly bound with rope to stop bleeding.
Her face was pale and she looked close to death.
Her pale skin was marked with scratches, teeth marks, and burns from cigarette embers.
Seeing this, Zhao Yuting covered her mouth, her eyes instantly reddening as tears welled up and spilled over.
She never imagined those athletes could do such things to a female student.
“This… how could this be! Monsters! They’re simply monsters!”
The girl, seeing Liu Yang and Zhao Yuting, opened her hopeless eyes weakly and said, “Kill me… kill me…”
In recent days, she had been subjected to relentless torture by the five athletes.
At first, they only raped, beat, and tormented her, deriving pleasure from her pain.
Back then, she thought surviving their torment was at least better than being eaten alive by zombies.
But later, as they grew hungry and dared not go to the cafeteria because of the dozens of zombies there, they turned their attention to her.
They ate both her arms.
Only then did she realize that human hearts were more terrifying than zombies.
So she longed for death.
Yet, no matter how much she begged the athletes these past two days, they refused to grant her release.
After eating her hands, they became even more excited.
It was as if her mutilated limbs awakened their long-hidden sadistic desires.
Their torment grew more passionate.
The girl was already living a fate worse than death.
“We can save her and take her with us. Can’t we, Liu Yang?” Zhao Yuting pleaded tearfully.
But Liu Yang just shook his head and said, “Don’t be naive. She’s lost both arms; she won’t survive. The only thing I can do is give her a quick release.”
“No, she’s still alive. We can save her, I’m sure we can,” Zhao Yuting sobbed.
As a teacher, seeing a severely wounded student and feeling helpless filled her with guilt and powerlessness.
She felt deeply sinful.
“Kill me… please kill me. I know I won’t make it. Kill me…” the girl’s voice was weak as she stared at Liu Yang, begging, “Can you give me a quick release?”
Liu Yang nodded.
“Thank you,” the girl finally showed a look of relief and closed her eyes.
“Crack!”
Liu Yang shot her in the head.
“Ah…”
“Ahhh!”
From the equipment room came Zhao Yuting’s anguished cries.
