Chapter 27: Taking the Beautiful Teacher Back to the Villa

A female student had just been shot in the head by Liu Yang right before her eyes.
Although the girl had asked for it.
Although Zhao Yuting understood that he had granted the student a swift death.
She still could not accept watching one of her students die in despair right in front of her.
“Those people are demons! They aren’t human! Boo-hoo-hoo!” Zhao Yuting cursed through her tears.
She had never imagined that those students could do something so horrifying and inhuman. They were even more terrifying than zombies!
Liu Yang warned the teacher, “That is why, Teacher Zhao, you must understand that in the apocalypse, everyone’s former identity has become a thing of the past. A teacher is no longer a teacher, and a student is no longer a student. Everyone has only one identity now: survivor.
“And survivors are no longer restrained by anyone, so they may do things beyond anything you can imagine. If you had encountered someone other than me, you might have ended up just like that girl.
“So protect yourself. Do not show any more misplaced compassion, or you will fall into an endless hell.”
“Boo-hoo-hoo! Those people deserve to die! They deserve to die ten thousand times!” Zhao Yuting sobbed.
“Let’s go. We don’t have time to waste here. I have things to do.” With that, Liu Yang walked straight out of the equipment room.
Though heartbroken, Zhao Yuting obediently followed behind him.
Only after what had happened did she understand that this apocalypse was filled with danger—not only from zombies, but from human beings as well.
At first, she had believed that they were all classmates. When Liu Yang had said that if he did not kill those athletes, they would kill him, Zhao Yuting simply could not believe it.
But after seeing the horrific scene inside the athletic equipment room, she believed him completely.
If Liu Yang had not eliminated those athletes, then perhaps they would have killed him next. And if they had captured her, her fate might have been even more miserable than that female student’s.
At last, she recognized the cruelty of this world.
Surviving in such a cruel world would be incredibly difficult.
And Liu Yang was now her only hope of staying alive.
…
The two of them soon arrived beneath the dormitory buildings.
“What are you planning to do next?” Zhao Yuting asked curiously.
“There are tens of thousands of zombies inside these dormitories, so I’m going to burn all ten buildings to the ground,” Liu Yang said calmly.

“Ah!” Zhao Yuting exclaimed. “But there may still be surviving students inside. If you burn the dormitories down, won’t you burn them alive as well?”
Liu Yang replied calmly, “Whether they are the men’s dormitories or the women’s dormitories, most rooms house four or six people. The infection rate is probably around seventy percent, meaning at least half the people in each room have become zombies. Do you really think those who remain can still be alive?
“Even if they are alive, that is not something I can take into consideration. You have already witnessed how cruel the apocalypse is. If we do not burn all these tens of thousands of zombies, then once they evolve intelligence, even more survivors may die at their hands.”
“But…” Zhao Yuting still wanted to say something, but when she remembered the terrible scene inside the equipment room, she ultimately fell silent.
Even if there were survivors, so what? Perhaps the survivors inside were also abusing their fellow humans just like those athletes had.
And so she withdrew her compassion.
Liu Yang had already reached the entrance of the dormitories.
When the zombies inside saw him appear, they immediately grew excited and began ramming the doors incessantly.
Liu Yang took gasoline from his dark storage space and began pouring it directly over them.
Then he set it alight.
Blazing flames engulfed the zombies, yet they felt no pain and continued battering the doors.
The fire raged across their bodies, but they remained completely unmoved.
Liu Yang paid them no further attention. Instead, he went to the next dormitory building and continued spreading gasoline.
Before long, all ten dormitory buildings were engulfed in roaring flames.
Looking at the ten buildings burning brightly, Liu Yang was extremely satisfied. He said to Zhao Yuting, “Let’s go. The school dormitories are enormous. They will probably burn for an entire day and night. We should return to somewhere safe.”
“Somewhere safe? Where is that? Can there still be a safe place in the apocalypse?” Zhao Yuting asked in surprise.
After seeing the devastation in the athletic equipment room, she could not help but begin questioning the entire world.
Was this still the world she knew?
In this ruined and ravaged world, was there truly any safe place left?
Where could weak survivors like them possibly find shelter?
Liu Yang, however, said confidently, “Wherever I am is a safe place.”
With that, he took Zhao Yuting by the hand and began walking toward the villa district.

When Zhao Yuting heard Liu Yang’s words and saw the confidence in his eyes, she froze.
How could he be so confident?
It was as though an indescribable radiance surrounded him, so dazzling that it was difficult to look directly at him.
In the apocalypse, he was like a beacon guiding the way—brilliant and blinding.
In that instant, Zhao Yuting even felt that Liu Yang was the finest and most handsome man she had ever seen in this world.
He was so dependable, so reassuring.
Liu Yang successfully brought Zhao Yuting back to the villa.
The operation was over.
Fortunately, nothing unexpected had happened this time.
Liu Yang had successfully burned down the school dormitories and brought Zhao Yuting back safely.
The moment Zhao Yuting entered Liu Yang’s villa, He Yushi hurried over. After getting a clear look at her face, she exclaimed in surprise, “Teacher Zhao?!”
Zhao Yuting was the mathematics teacher of their class!
He Yushi was overjoyed that she could still see Teacher Zhao in the apocalypse.
She excitedly took Zhao Yuting’s hand and said, “It really is you, Teacher Zhao! I’m so happy to see you! Liu Yang, where did you find Teacher Zhao? As far as I know, she doesn’t live in this villa district!”
“I was hiding in the school infirmary, and Liu Yang rescued me. Yushi, I never expected you to be here too. I’m so happy! Boo-hoo-hoo… This apocalypse is so terrifying. I thought I would never see you students again…” Zhao Yuting began crying once more.
The horrific scene in the athletic equipment room had been seared deeply into her heart.
At the time, she had wondered whether the students in her own class might encounter something like that as well.
Whenever she imagined such a scene, she felt sick and distressed.
Now that she saw He Yushi still alive, bouncing happily before her, Zhao Yuting’s heart filled with emotion and joy.
