When they saw the scene inside the supermarket, everyone was shocked, their faces immediately filled with caution. This supermarket resembled a battlefield; the floor was littered with the bodies of zombies.

Originally, the dozen or so of them were confident they could handle Zhang Jinglin alone.

But now,

this man wielding Zhang Jinglin’s samurai sword seemed even stronger than Zhang Jinglin himself!

This had to be taken seriously.

As they pressed deeper into the supermarket’s empty aisles, their confusion only grew.

Huang Gou was the first to speak: “What’s going on here? The entire supermarket is completely emptied out—every item taken. This is impossible! Even clothes, bowls, and other daily necessities have all been taken? How many survivors could there possibly be around here?”

Even carrying a large backpack, you couldn’t load up much—at most, a week’s worth of food.

To clear out a whole large supermarket, how many survivors must have come together to haul everything away?

Moreover, the blood on the floor from the zombies was fresh; these zombies had been killed not long ago.

Could it be that someone came to take supplies before the zombies were slain? That’s unthinkable.

Everything about this was deeply unsettling.

Juxiong shook his head. “Enough speculation. First, find Zhang Jingyu!”

His top priority was to help Black Tiger locate Zhang Jingyu; he didn’t want to concern himself with other matters.

Huang Gou nodded, sniffing the air again before following the scent all the way to the supermarket’s storage room.

At that moment, Liu Yang’s keen hearing caught the sound of someone approaching.

He frowned.

He had already eliminated all the zombies outside. Could it be that someone, seeing no zombies inside, had risked venturing out to scavenge for food?

He wasn’t willing to share his supplies.

Fortunately, he had already gathered everything from the storage room and was ready to confront these survivors.

Liu Yang, wielding the samurai sword, stepped out of the storage room with Zhang Jingyu, and the two groups suddenly came face to face.

At the sight of Zhang Jingyu, Juxiong’s eyes widened, then lit up with excitement: “Zhang Jingyu? Great, you’re still alive! Now I can report back!”

“Ah!” Zhang Jingyu couldn’t help but cry out, his face paling instantly with fear.

“What’s wrong? Who are they?” Liu Yang asked cautiously, glancing at the people opposite while whispering to Zhang Jingyu.

“They’re all from the Black Tiger Survivor Base. That big man is Juxiong, the third-in-command of Black Tiger. He’s a psychic—very powerful! Only slightly weaker than my brother.

The two beside him are Huang Gou and Daobashu, also psychics! The others are all hardened members of Black Tiger Base. Before the disaster, some were mercenaries, others professional killers, every one of them formidable.

I never expected the Black Tiger Survivor Base to dispatch three psychics and a dozen elites to capture us!”

Fear was etched deeply on Zhang Jingyu’s face.

Three psychics deployed at once— even if his brother were alive, they wouldn’t stand a chance!

Three psychics, huh?

Liu Yang tightened his grip on the samurai sword.

This was his first encounter with psychics.

But judging by their demeanor, they didn’t seem very strong. Three simple ice needles should be enough to take them down.

Still, Liu Yang didn’t want to kill them so quickly. Instead, he wanted to test how much stronger he was compared to ordinary psychics. That way, he could estimate his ranking in the trial within the stone tablet.

So he planned not to use his psychic powers, relying solely on his samurai sword and close combat skills to defeat them.

While Liu Yang studied Juxiong and the others, they were equally wary, watching him closely.

Neither side knew much about the other, so Juxiong’s group dared not act rashly.

Huang Gou noticed the sword in Liu Yang’s hand: “Kid, we’re from the Black Tiger Survivor Base. Which base are you with? You can’t just take other people’s stuff. Leave that woman and the sword, and maybe we’ll spare your life!”

“Oh? And if I refuse?” Liu Yang said with a half-smile.

“Then don’t blame us for being ruthless!” Huang Gou snarled, drawing a large machete from behind, its blade gleaming coldly.

“Then let’s see how ruthless you can be!” As soon as Liu Yang finished, he charged at Huang Gou, and before the latter could react, Liu Yang’s samurai sword slashed forward in a flash.

“Swish!” The expression of gritted teeth was still on Huang Gou’s face—but his head fell to the ground.

A high jet of blood spurted from his neck. Then, Liu Yang swung his sword swiftly, dispatching several burly men beside Huang Gou.

“What speed!”

Juxiong’s face showed shock at the scene.

At the same time, they all quickly dodged backward, their eyes filled with fear as they looked at Liu Yang.

“Huh? Running away? Don’t retreat—I haven’t even had my fill yet!” Liu Yang sneered.

The black samurai sword dripped with blood.

The supermarket was saturated with the scent of gore.

On the floor lay four headless corpses.

After this brief confrontation, Liu Yang roughly gauged the psychics’ strength.

Their basic attributes—strength and speed—were about twice that of ordinary people.

And Liu Yang’s strength and speed were sixteen times that of a normal person!

The gap was enormous. From Liu Yang’s perspective, their movements were too slow.

As for their psychic abilities, Liu Yang wasn’t sure, but he guessed they weren’t very powerful; otherwise, they wouldn’t have been defeated without using their powers.

Cold sweat appeared on Juxiong’s face.

The others from the base were even more terrified.

This man was incredibly strong!

So strong that they couldn’t even see his movements clearly. Even the Black Tiger base leader himself would not be a match for this man!

Juxiong’s heart pounded with panic.

If his combat strength was eight hundred, and Black Tiger’s leader was a thousand, this man’s power was at least five thousand!

They weren’t even on the same level!

How could they fight?

Unless the entire Black Tiger base mobilized, they had no chance of victory!

Juxiong, full of caution, said to Liu Yang, “Brother, let’s talk this through. It’s all a misunderstanding. Take the woman and the weapon—we’ll leave now. How about that? If you let us go, we’ll never show up in front of you again!”

“That won’t do... I’m not done yet!” Liu Yang said, rushing toward Juxiong and the others again.

Juxiong shouted, “Run! Back to the base! Bring reinforcements! I’ll cover the rear!”

“Bear’s Strength!”

“Roar!!!”

Juxiong’s body suddenly enlarged, growing thick fur all over, instantly transforming into a real giant grizzly bear!

“Oh? Your psychic power turns you into a bear? That’s pretty weak! Such a fine man, wasting it by turning into a beast!” Liu Yang raised his sword and swung it down, severing Juxiong’s head before he could react.

Then he charged into the fleeing group, slaughtering them with abandon. These mercenaries and professional killers were like lambs to the slaughter before Liu Yang—utterly powerless to resist!

In less than a minute, Liu Yang had killed them all.
