Chapter 60: The Doomsday Prepper Got Ransacked
Stepping into the luxurious villa, Liu Yang discovered that the surrounding wall was unexpectedly six meters high!
Moreover, instead of the usual hollowed-out iron railing, it was a solid, impenetrable wall that completely blocked any view from the outside.
It was clear that the owner of this villa placed an extreme value on privacy.
So much so that they did not even care if the massive wall ruined the aesthetic appeal of the property.
Upon entering the grounds, the lavish interior decoration surprised Liu Yang even more.
There was actually a helicopter pad in the courtyard, with an orange private helicopter parked right on top of it!
The interior finishings of this villa were several grades higher than the ones in the neighborhood where Liu Yang lived!
Even the window panes were made of bulletproof glass!
This villa was easily worth over a billion!
Walking into the grand foyer, he noticed a substantial pile of packaged food.
If it were just for the three strong men, it would have been enough to last them at least a week.
However, to Liu Yang, this amount of food was still far too little.
Compared to what he had stored in his dark spatial dimension, it was merely a drop in the bucket.
The burly man put on a flattering smile and said to Liu Yang, "Boss, we gathered all this food over the past few days. It's all yours, take it!"
Liu Yang said coldly, "Just this little bit?"
"J-just... just this much..." Hearing Liu Yang's icy voice, the burly man was startled once again, almost wetting himself on the spot.
This Liu Yang was a merciless god of death who blew people's heads off at the slightest provocation; a single mistake could cost him his life.
It felt as though a blade was suspended right above his neck, ready to drop at any second, keeping him in a state of constant trembling terror.
Liu Yang scoffed, "The three of you big guys only managed to scavenge this much food after all these days? You're fucking useless!"
Seeing Liu Yang's expression of dissatisfaction, the burly man tentatively added, "The owner of this villa built a safe room in the basement. There's a lot of food stockpiled inside, but we couldn't get it open."
Hearing this, Liu Yang instantly perked up. "Oh, why didn't you say so earlier? Take me there!"
The owner of this villa must have been a full-blown survivalist back in peaceful times!
Not only did he build the perimeter walls exceptionally high and completely solid, but he also constructed a safe room in the basement?
Could it be that he had anticipated the disaster long in advance?
As expected, these wealthy people were the most afraid of dying.
And a safe room like that was usually reserved for high-ranking VIPs of presidential caliber.
Yet this tycoon had actually built one for himself.
It seemed he was indeed immensely wealthy.
And he constantly worried about his own safety.
A wealthy individual who was excessively cautious and terrified of death.
Led by the burly man, Liu Yang descended into the basement and indeed spotted the safe room.
The safe room was not large.
It didn't look like a room at all; rather, it resembled a giant metal box.
It was a rectangular block cast from stainless steel more than ten centimeters thick, with estimated dimensions of five by five by three meters!
On the door, there was a square glass observation port measuring about twenty centimeters on each side.
It was made of bulletproof glass over ten centimeters thick.
Liu Yang peered inside through the twenty-centimeter observation hole.
He discovered that there was indeed a considerable amount of compressed biscuits and other food piled up inside. Moreover, inside the safe room, there was unexpectedly a beautiful young woman!
Liu Yang turned to the burly man beside him and asked, "What's the deal with the woman inside?"
"Uh... she... well, she's... she's..." The burly man stammered, wearing a flustered expression.
"Spit it out, damn it, or I'll cut you down right now!" Liu Yang directly drew his Black Light katana.
Startled, the burly man blurted out at top speed:
"She is the daughter of the original owner of this villa! The three of us were the billionaire's bodyguards. When the apocalypse first broke out, we killed the billionaire, wanting to take the villa for ourselves and force ourselves on his daughter. But she hid inside the safe room, and there was nothing we could do to get to her!"
He rattled this off in a single breath without pausing. Once he finished, he panted heavily, taking in massive gulps of air.
Hearing this, Liu Yang had a sudden epiphany. "You three scumbags are something else! As bodyguards, when the apocalypse hit, you actually killed your employer, seized his villa, and even wanted to violate his daughter? You guys are even more ruthless than me!"
Liu Yang thought to himself.
He had only killed Zhao Ming because Zhao Ming had turned into a zombie, after which he took over his villa and his girlfriend.
These three security guards were far more despicable than him; they had whacked the villa owner before he even had a chance to turn into a zombie.
"Hehe, what can you do? Who told his daughter to be so gorgeous?" A somewhat embarrassed look appeared on the burly man's face.
Liu Yang sighed inwardly. The owner of this villa was truly unlucky.
During peaceful times, he was a survivalist who not only built a safe room but also hoarded massive amounts of supplies inside it ahead of time.
Who could have known that the moment the disaster broke out, his own bodyguards would take a fancy to his daughter and end up murdering him?
This rich man died a truly aggrieved death.
He probably calculated every single contingency except that he would die because of his daughter.
The saying that a beauty is a curse truly held water.
Besides, as the saying went: while others hoard grain, I hoard guns; my neighbor is my granary.
Without strength in the apocalypse, no matter how many resources you owned, it was useless because you could never hold onto them.
After sighing inwardly, Liu Yang asked the burly man, "Are there any other places with supplies?"
"N-no... nowhere else. Can you let me go now? I'll get out of here right this instant and swear I'll never show my face anywhere near this place again!" The burly man shook his head and said.
His eyes were filled with yearning and pleading.
"Of course. And I'll even give you a free ride!" Liu Yang said coldly, and then—
"Slash!"
With a single sweep of his blade, the burly man's head instantly rolled to the ground!
Bodyguards who would murder their employer right at the onset of the apocalypse were people Liu Yang dared not keep around.
Besides, the excuse of killing their employer just to violate his daughter was far too flimsy.
If it had been a matter of life-and-death threat, killing an employer might have been somewhat justifiable.
Having dispatched the burly man, Liu Yang turned his attention back to the safe room.
The bulletproof glass window on the door was too small to provide a view of the entire room's interior.
Nor could he clearly see just how stunning the woman inside was, but judging by the reactions of those thugs, that woman was definitely an absolute beauty in a million.
After all, not only had they killed their employer for her sake, but after she locked herself inside the safe room, they had tried every conceivable method to breach it.
Liu Yang noticed various marks on the safe room door left by hacking with blades, drilling with electric drills, and scorching with fire.
He had to hand it to the wealthy owner; he certainly didn't skimp on money.
God knows what kind of stainless steel this door was made of. Even after being burned by fire and relentlessly drilled into, it had only sustained some minor surface scratches.
It remained completely undamaged!
Those bodyguards must have been driven mad with frustration, as they had ultimately welded every single crack shut with an electric arc welder.
This meant that even if the woman inside wanted to open the door now, she would find it utterly impossible.
She was destined to be trapped inside the safe room until she died!
Had she not run into Liu Yang, she probably would have perished in there without anyone ever knowing.
Liu Yang raised his Black Light katana and drove it straight into the door.
"Slash!"
The blade pierced effortlessly through the metal, sliding in as if it were cutting through tofu.
It was so effortless that even Liu Yang was taken aback.
"Holy shit, this blade is too overpowered?! Stainless steel over ten centimeters thick, and it pierced right through it like tofu?"
He knew the blade was sharp, but he never imagined it could be this sharp.
Items forged from the stone tablet were truly masterpieces!
