Wu Leiting was one of the players who had gone out to hunt zombies. He had been fast enough to make it back to the dormitory.

Now, as he watched the names of the players on the lower floors fade one after another, sweat broke out across his forehead. His entire body trembled with tension.

What should he do?!

That giant monster was about to come charging up!

Judging from the increasingly regular rhythm with which the names dimmed, it was clear that the giant zombie needed only ten minutes to break through an iron door!

That speed was terrifying.

After all, there were only eighty-five players left in total!

In other words, it would take this giant zombie just fourteen hours to slaughter its way through the entire dormitory building from one end to the other!

The people living on the lower floors were truly doomed this time!

Unfortunately, Wu Leiting lived on the fourth floor. In just a few hours, he would be taken out as well.

“There are still more than ten hours until the game ends. Damn it, there’s absolutely no way for me to survive on this floor… I have to run. I have to run!”

“But where am I supposed to go?”

“Where the hell am I supposed to run?”

Wu Leiting’s mind had gone completely numb. Hot sweat poured down his face, impossible to stop.

At this very moment, many people were trapped in the same predicament as Wu Leiting.

“Wait, I can ask the players upstairs for help and become a tenant. I’m done being a room owner in this lousy place!”

With that thought, Wu Leiting moved to open the door.

But halfway there, he stopped again.

A problem now lay directly before him!

Almost all of the daytime resources had been consumed by the players on the lower floors, while many of the rooms rented by players upstairs had wooden doors!

“Doesn’t that mean the giant zombie won’t need nearly this long to kill all of us?! And there seems to be another special zombie too…”

Before one problem could be solved, another had appeared!

He couldn’t think about it anymore. If he did, he would go insane!

At this very moment, many people were caught in the same predicament as Wu Leiting.

But there were also people even more desperate than him.

The first floor had once been a gathering place for elite players.

Now, it was filled with wails of despair, and everyone was terrified for their lives.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Terrifying impacts against the doors rang out one after another, leaving the players on the first floor dizzy with fear.

At this moment, Room 9 had drawn the giant zombie’s attention.

[9 Sun Heng: Trade me iron materials, quickly! If I die, you’ll all die too!]

When he shouted that in the group chat, someone actually traded iron materials to him.

There was no other choice. Once his door was breached, someone else would be next.

With wave after wave of assistance, Sun Heng truly managed to hold out.

No one knew how much time had passed when, all of a sudden, the pounding on the door stopped.

Immediately afterward, the source of the pounding shifted!

This time, Room 10 was under attack!

The player hiding inside was instantly dumbfounded.

He had been the most enthusiastic person when it came to trading materials to Sun Heng just moments ago.

He immediately called for help in the chatroom, using exactly the same words as Sun Heng.

But tragically, no one was willing to help him anymore.

Everyone had panicked earlier and given Sun Heng raw materials for free. Now they had come to their senses.

Wasn’t that just idiotic?!

They were already about to die themselves, yet they were still supplying someone else with resources. Had they gone mad?!

Boom!

It wasn’t long before Room 10 was breached. In less than thirty seconds, the name of the player inside faded away.

Now it was Room 11’s turn!

“Help me…” The player in Room 11 opened his mouth and muttered to himself, but he did not even send the message to the chatroom.

He knew that no one would help him.

The players’ names dimmed one after another, each one representing a life slipping away.

Only after several more deaths did the giant zombie’s cold, mechanical rhythm begin to change.

Desperate to survive, the players began an extreme game of rooftop-style parkour!

At first, some players on the first floor tried to sneak out of their rooms. The result was that the instant the giant zombie spotted them, they exploded!

When faced with living prey in plain sight, the giant zombie had no intention of continuing its little game of breaking down doors. Once its long legs began to run, almost no one could outrun it.

But this also gave the other players a chance to escape their rooms.

Now, the chatroom was filled with the desperate cries of players from the lower floors.

“As long as you let me into your room, I’ll give you everything I have!”

Players without rooms began racing wildly throughout the dormitory, as though they were playing hide-and-seek with a ghost.

“Brother, how much iron do you have left?” In the stairwell, a muscular young man spoke to a shorter young man.

“I’ve got forty-six units left. Why?” The shorter young man turned around, confused.

Stab!

A dagger plunged directly into his throat.

After stealing the shorter young man’s supplies, the muscular man used his large reserve of iron as a bargaining chip to find a high-floor room with an iron door. He then advised the room owner to accept only tenants who possessed iron.

As long as they survived one round, the giant zombie would switch to attacking another room!

Xu Lang stared at the screen filled with desperate pleas for help in the chatroom, and his expression grew solemn as well.

He did not simply sit around waiting for death. Instead, he began arranging ropes and other tools around the room.

“What are you doing, Xu Lang?” Cao Yaxuan asked.

“Setting traps. We can’t rely solely on the steel door,” Xu Lang replied gravely.

Tong Qi was astonished that Xu Lang even knew how to set traps.

“Can these traps kill the giant zombie?” Cao Yaxuan swallowed nervously.

“No.” Xu Lang shook his head. “So prepare yourselves mentally. Once the traps restrain the zombie, we’ll run upstairs!”

“Why would we run upstairs? Isn’t that a dead end?” Cao Yaxuan immediately felt that the plan was unreliable.

Xu Lang explained, “I just spoke with Zhang Dahai. He said that the zombie they killed was able to climb walls… That means one of the pursuers has already been eliminated!”

“Once we reach the top floor, we can use my rope to descend rapidly. We won’t need to move many floors—just one or two. In theory, we can keep leading the monster on a chase like that.”

“Do you understand?”

Cao Yaxuan swallowed. “It sounds incredibly difficult.”

“This is our final option… And since it’s the final option, surviving safely is absolutely impossible,” Xu Lang said seriously.

In truth, the best solution would be to upgrade his pistol right now, go outside, and kill the two zombies.

But there was another problem.

The other zombie had never shown itself!

No one knew what abilities it possessed.

At present, the best course of action was actually to wait for the night to pass. Once the small bed refreshed during the day, he could quickly sleep, gather three hundred Nightmare Coins, and reinforce the door.

Only by staying alive could they deal damage!

That had been Xu Lang’s original plan.

If he had known from the beginning how useless the players were, he would never have adjusted his sleep schedule.

In theory, every round of the game should leave at least a few survivors.

And he had already upgraded to a Level Three steel door, which was practically a guarantee that he would survive to the end!

Yet judging from the players’ current state, the survival rate was clearly plunging straight toward zero!

He had underestimated the cruelty of this dormitory survival game!

Then again, it made sense. The players had made one mistake after another, and they had hardly done a single thing correctly.

Their economic development had already surpassed ten thousand by a ridiculous margin, and they still wanted to turn the situation around. Wasn’t that absurd?

Who said a beginner’s game had to give you a way to survive?
