Chapter Seventeen: Killer Bees Defeat a Pack of Hyenas

Regardless of what happened, Chu Ye once again came to Lisa’s side, preparing to use the killer bees as a weapon for the second time.

Lisa had never expected that, at such a critical moment, this extraordinary little lion would come to help her again.

She felt that Chu Ye’s actions were tantamount to throwing his life away.

If there had been only one male lion, he might have been able to harass it for a while. A male lion could not be in two places at once, so it would naturally have had no way to deal with Chu Ye.

But the situation was different now. This was a pack of hyenas.

If they saw a lion cub attacking them, any one of them could easily break away and deal with Chu Ye.

Lisa was therefore extremely anxious. As she fought the hyenas, she roared at Chu Ye, who was standing off to one side.

She wanted Chu Ye to hurry up and hide in the tree rather than come over and throw his life away.

But Chu Ye did not leave. He roared at Lisa several times, then ran to the bushes nearby.

When Lisa saw what he was doing, she seemed to understand his intention.

She thought that since Chu Ye intended to use the killer bees again, there was no harm in giving it a try.

Thus, while continuing to fight the hyenas, Lisa began retreating toward the thicket.

The pack had no idea what Lisa was planning. They assumed that she could not defeat them and was trying to escape.

In truth, Chu Ye’s actions had been extremely dangerous. If the hyenas fighting Lisa had noticed him and even one of them had come to attack, Chu Ye would probably have been doomed.

Fortunately, the seven or eight hyenas were wholly focused on battling Lisa and completely ignored Chu Ye standing nearby.

That gave Chu Ye and Lisa an opportunity to work together.

Lisa had already understood what Chu Ye was thinking.

So she continued fighting the seven or eight hyenas while pretending to flee, gradually withdrawing toward the thicket.

The hyenas were enjoying the fight far too much to let Lisa escape.

They wanted to defeat her—and even kill her so they could immediately feast on her flesh.

When they saw Lisa run toward the nearby bushes, they followed at once and continued attacking her.

Lisa had reached the edge of the thicket, while Chu Ye was hiding on the other side.

When he saw that Lisa had arrived, he suddenly struck one of the branches beside him.

He struck it with tremendous force, causing the hive hidden within to shake violently.

The hornets inside sensed that something was wrong and immediately dispatched thousands of warriors. They swarmed out of the bushes, searching for something to attack.

After all, the hive had been shaken particularly hard this time. The queen sensed that the situation was serious and naturally sent out an even larger force.

Lisa had been prepared for this. The moment she saw Chu Ye strike the branches again, she hurried toward another patch of bushes.

The hyenas, however, were naturally slower to react. How could they possibly know what Lisa was trying to do?

Before the seven or eight hyenas could understand her strange actions, they suddenly heard a loud buzzing. In the blink of an eye, a dark “cloud” appeared overhead.

These were all adult hyenas, and they had certainly experienced the ferocity of African killer bees before.

The moment they saw thousands of killer bees above them, they began shrieking in panic.

“Woo! Woo!”

As soon as the hyenas saw the killer bees, they began howling wildly.

Clearly, they were terrified.

The moment the seven or eight hyenas saw the swarm, they completely abandoned any thought of fighting Lisa.

They knew all too well how deadly those killer bees were.

If they did not flee for their lives immediately, they would be stung to death.

The seven or eight hyenas therefore turned and ran into the distance.

When they spotted a dense patch of bushes, they hurried into it, hoping to hide from the bees.

Lisa was now able to withdraw safely, for the swarm had already surrounded the seven or eight hyenas.

The hyenas could only flee in blind panic. They had no desire to continue fighting Lisa.

From the other side of the thicket, Chu Ye watched as the swarm of killer bees battered the seven or eight hyenas into utter disarray and sent them fleeing in humiliation. His heart filled with delight.

Lisa felt the same way. Seeing her son defeat those detestable hyenas with the killer bees once again, she admired him more than ever.

She was also puzzled. Perhaps she was wondering what had happened to her son and why he was so completely different from other cubs.

How could he be so brave and so clever? He was truly an exceptional little lion!

Whatever the case, Chu Ye had once again helped his mother and driven away the seven or eight hyenas.

Once they had fled, Lisa was finally free.

Although she had suffered injuries in several places, none of them were especially serious.

Lisa immediately ran toward her sister.

Aisha was still fighting another seven or eight hyenas. She too had been injured in several places, and her situation was extremely dangerous.

Lisa did not dare waste another moment and rushed into the battle.

When the two lionesses faced the seven or eight hyenas together, the situation changed entirely.

Lisa and Aisha fought side by side, each dealing with three or four hyenas. The hyenas began to grow frightened. Lisa and Aisha had joined forces, while the number of hyenas had not increased; there were still only seven or eight of them.

With the two lionesses united, they could hold their own against the pack.

After all, lions were far larger than hyenas. Even though lionesses were much smaller than male lions, they were still considerably bigger than hyenas.

The balance of victory therefore began to tilt toward the lions.

The seven or eight hyenas were clearly unable to defeat the two lionesses.

By this point, Lisa had been driven into a killing fury. When she spotted an opening, she lunged forward and clamped her jaws around the neck of a male hyena close to her.

The male hyena struggled and shrieked.

Lisa bit down with even greater force. There was a sharp crack, and the hyena’s neck snapped in her jaws.

After struggling twice, the male hyena lay still.

Lisa had killed one of them outright, instantly crushing the pack’s arrogance.

The remaining hyenas immediately scattered, afraid to approach Lisa and Aisha again.

When one of them tried to flee, Aisha sprang after it and seized its hind leg in her jaws.

She bit down hard. Another sharp crack rang out as she broke the female hyena’s hind leg.

Fortunately, the hyena fought desperately and managed to wrench itself free, escaping from Aisha’s jaws.

Its thigh bone, however, was already shattered. It had lost all ability to fight and could no longer hunt prey.

Hyenas that had lost their ability to hunt and fight received no mercy from their companions.
