Chapter Thirty-Two: Manifestation of the Abnormal
As white fog enveloped the hotel, every guest within their respective rooms simultaneously sensed that something was amiss.
Room 16.
Cheng Fan set aside his book and let out a yawn, intending to turn off the light and go to sleep. However, just as he stepped off the bed, he noticed something appearing on the wall beside the door. On the pristine white surface, a blood-red image was slowly emerging.
The drawing was simple, composed of only a few sparse strokes, yet it was clear enough to identify what it depicted: a door, standing shut. Below the drawing, in the empty space, there was a round clock with its hour hand fixed on the number five.
The image appeared and vanished in a flash. Once Cheng Fan had taken in the full sight, the drawing on the wall faded into obscurity on its own.
Song Weili’s expression shifted as he looked at her. "You are overthinking it; nothing will change," he said. Though he did not particularly care for her, he held a certain appreciation for her, and her family’s influence could prove useful to him. He found no reason to refuse her.
It was not yet fully dark. From the ground, one could watch the lights of the iron tower being illuminated. Riding the elevator all the way to the third level at the summit, one could see Paris, a nightscape as picturesque as a painting—dazzling lights, lush greenery, and streets interwoven like a web, shimmering like a beaded net after the rain.
Gu Yun lay on the ground, the searing pain in his chest causing a wave of dizziness. His body felt as if it no longer belonged to him; he could not even move.
The only drawback was that using night-vision goggles created an obstruction when trying to use the scope on the Type 85 sniper rifle.
Pan Xuelian explained the downsides of the matter. While a single household might only account for a few thousand, with thousands of households, the compensation fees would amount to millions. Could they really just decide not to collect it?
Since he could not overpower his opponent in strength—and was perhaps even a fraction weaker—Gu Yun decided against further probing. Against a truly evenly matched opponent, any amount of testing was futile.
Gu Yun was completely unfamiliar with these ruins. He could only rely on his own observations, combined with the sparse, cryptic information regarding the locations of demonic beasts provided by Master Yu, to analyze and find a safe path—one that would hopefully yield some rewards for everyone.
"Yulan, take this bottle of blue mercury potion and this pack of cotton swabs. I’m going to go see if Wang Qing needs to relieve himself." With that, she ran toward her room.
He was headed to Berlin that night, for early the next morning, he had to board a train to Moscow.
This was one of the reasons why he appeared so reserved and timid at the beginning.
She was beautiful. If someone had told Yan Han beforehand that she was the ruthless, cutthroat Lin Yin, he might not have believed it.
The intelligence of these wild beasts was inherently low. Seeing so many humans intruding into their territory, they had clashed to protect their home. Perhaps it was precisely because of their arrival that the gale-tip birds were thrown into a panic, unable to distinguish friend from foe, leading them to launch a reckless attack.
Chu Lan pushed his bicycle into an alley. Seeing that no one was around, he changed his clothes, removed his spirit-fox mask, covered his mouth and nose with a rag, and continued his exploration.
If the Postal Savings Bank could survive in rural towns, why couldn't our Agricultural Development Bank do the same?
Chu Chi turned sideways, following the lingering smoke on the left side of the church, preparing to tail them.
Just then, a streak of fire suddenly flashed by, whistling past the squad leader’s left side before burying itself into a team member’s head.
The turbulent currents of the surrounding rules were like a lake struck by a giant mountain; they shook violently before bursting apart.
Although this country was chaotic and prone to accidents, the streets were quite prosperous. Goods were abundant, and one could buy products from all over the world here.
After five minutes, the interrogating officer did not leave. Instead, he operated the computer, seemingly pulling up the confession video of his accomplice.
Qiao Simiao and his companion were stunned, unsure of what had just happened. They only saw that Wei Kaige’s fierce, aggressive sword strike had been brought to a halt in mid-air, stopped by what appeared to be an unintentional thrust from Chu Lan.
