It was a golden eagle!
What man wouldn’t want an eagle of his own?
The mere thought that he would soon possess one made Lin Yifan’s heart race with excitement.
Unfortunately, incubation would take two hours, so he could only set the egg aside for the time being.
He began counting the supplies he had acquired during the day in exchange for blueberries.
At the time, he had put nearly all his blueberries up for trade. Ten blueberries made one bundle, and he had listed more than a thousand bundles in total.
By now, the entire wooden hut was almost filled with basic materials: timber, stone, and clay.
This was despite the fact that, during the two trips he had made back to the hut, he had stored all the timber in his spatial storage and placed the stone outside the door. Only the clay had remained indoors.
The amount of clay was relatively small, and it did not take up much space. Two hundred bundles of clay occupied only one or two cubic meters.
Even so, the wooden hut was packed to the brim.
He quickly organized all the materials, then checked how many supplies he still needed to upgrade to a Level Three Shelter.

Other than the basic pig iron and the blueprint, he had already gathered everything he needed.
The blueprint, however, was giving Lin Yifan a headache.
Over the past two days, he had opened quite a few treasure chests, but he had not obtained a single blueprint.
As for the basic pig iron, he was still short by more than half. He had no idea whether he could buy enough through the market, but he hoped he could.
At that moment, the steamed buns were ready.

Lin Yifan gnawed on a steamed bun with one hand while opening the light screen and checking the chat channel with the other.
He had been busy all day. Apart from taking a brief look at the chat channel around noon, he had barely checked it at all.
Whenever he opened the chat channel, he instinctively looked at the number in the upper-right corner first.

Nearly a thousand more people had gone offline.
Human lives truly were as worthless as grass.
Lin Yifan sighed faintly, though he was no longer as shaken as he had been during the first two days.
When all was said and done, everyone was the same after arriving in this world.
Luck, strength, and hard work were all indispensable. Without them, the only possible outcome was elimination.
For now, Lin Yifan was satisfied as long as he could ensure that he would not be eliminated and manage to live somewhat comfortably.
As for other people, he might lend them a hand as long as their affairs did not affect his own interests.
But once his interests were involved, he knew he would be unable to help them.
After glancing at the population count, he stopped paying attention to it and lowered his head to examine the chat channel.
After a full day of work, most people were still free at this hour, and the chat channel had no limit on the number of messages one could send.
As a result, information was flooding through the channel so quickly that it was nearly impossible to read.
After scanning it for a moment, he saw that most of the messages were simply filling the screen. People were generally searching for relatives, friends, or lovers.
But their region had only one hundred thousand people in total. If anyone had been able to find the person they were looking for within the region, they would have done so long ago. There was no reason for them to still be searching now.
Lin Yifan had no one he needed to find.
Although he thought of himself as an orphan with neither father nor mother, that was not entirely true.
His parents had divorced when he was four or five years old. Neither of them wanted him, and even his grandparents had refused to take him in.
Only his maternal grandmother, who lived alone, had accepted him. Relying on her aging body, she had somehow raised him to adulthood.
Sadly, he had only just graduated from university and had not yet had the chance to repay her kindness when she passed away from illness.
Thus, he had no relatives left to worry about.
As for friends, he did have two very close companions. They had shared a dormitory during university and had been brothers in all but blood, but after graduation, they had gone their separate ways.
After arriving in this world, he had searched for them in the group chat, but he had not found either one.
Besides, he had been rather conspicuous in the region over the past two days. Most people knew who he was. If his two brothers were truly in this region, it was impossible that they would not know about him.
Apart from those two close friends, he also had a girlfriend whom he occasionally thought about.
The reason he only thought of her occasionally was that they had been together for less than a week. They had been introduced by someone else and had only decided to become a couple after discovering that they were compatible.

As for how deep their feelings were, they could not honestly be considered profound. After all, they had not even slept together once, and their intimacy had yet to progress beyond holding hands.
He had searched for her in the group chat as well, but the girl was not here.
Since they were not in the same region, there was currently no way for them to search for each other across regions. All they could do was leave it to fate.
Lin Yifan stopped looking at the chat channel. His private messages were still as usual, showing 999+ unread messages.
He did not open the private-message channel immediately. Two avatars were flashing in the friends list beside it.
One belonged to Sexy Little Wildcat, while the other belonged to Ruan Qingtan.
Of course, these were the only two friends he had at present. He had not added anyone else.
Lin Yifan opened Ruan Qingtan’s chat first and saw that she had sent him the item descriptions for five things.
Three of the five items were blueprints:

Lin Yifan raised his eyebrows as he looked at the three blueprints.
Since all three were blueprints for constructing bathroom fixtures, he could not help feeling a pang of regret.
His current shelter could not accommodate these things yet, since he had not set aside any separate rooms.
However, according to his estimation, once the shelter reached Level Three, he should be able to divide it into rooms.
Even if the construction rules did not allow him to create separate rooms, he would partition one himself.
At the very least, he had to build a bathroom!
People ate grains and vegetables every day. How could they possibly live without answering nature’s call?
For the past two days, Lin Yifan had relieved himself in the woods outside. At night, however, he could only endure until dawn before going out.
It was a miserable experience.
Thinking about that reminded Lin Yifan that he was missing another essential daily necessity.
Toilet paper!
For the past two days, he had made do with leaves whenever he went outside. The experience had been terrible.
Therefore, he absolutely had to get a bathroom set up!
And he absolutely had to stock up on toilet paper!
