Her orders were steeped in hysterical madness. She could not accept that, having led an army of a million, she had been stopped before the Gate of the Boundary Sea by a single man and a single sword!
As she watched the seconds tick away, and the bloated transport ships at the rear of the fleet inch toward that accursed chaos, Liang Bing felt her reason being burned to ash by the flames of rage.
The female angels who received the order looked even more tragic and desperate.
They knew that bypassing the god of slaughter at the center of the battlefield and launching a direct assault on the fortress-like defensive line behind him would be a path with almost certain death.
The Silver Alloy battle swords and interlocking fields of fire wielded by the Deathbound Army were equally lethal. But Liang Bing's order allowed no doubt. It represented the will of the Mero Heavenly Court—the judgment of the New Order!
“For the New Order!” a veteran shouted hoarsely, tears mingling with the blood and grime on her face.
She no longer looked toward He Feng, who was acting like a meat grinder. Instead, she fixed her gaze on what appeared to be a weak junction in the Deathbound Army's defensive line.
With a violent beat of her wings, she pushed her speed to the limit. Like a streak of white lightning, she charged without hesitation toward that forest of blades gleaming with the cold light of death!
She would use her life to carve a bloody path for the sisters behind her, even if it amounted to no more than a single insignificant inch!
“Charge!”
More female angels answered her cry. With tears in their eyes and their teeth clenched, they let out bestial roars, abandoning their futile entanglement with He Feng and surging toward the Deathbound Army's position like a flood breaking through a dam.
For the first time, He Feng's brows drew together slightly.
Liang Bing's tactical shift was vicious. No matter how powerful he was, he was still only one man.
Faced with a million soldiers surging toward the defensive line from every direction like an endless tide, heedless of their casualties, he could not be everywhere at once.
He could kill a hundred, a thousand, even ten thousand—but he could not stop every torrent rushing toward the line.
“Rehn! Starboard side of Transport Ship Three! Hold them back!”
He Feng's icy voice reached Rehn through the internal communications channel. At the same time, his figure blurred, and he appeared in an area on the right flank where the pressure had suddenly intensified.
There, dozens of female angel veterans had formed a wedge-shaped assault formation and were charging recklessly against a weak point in the energy shield.
Under their frenzied attacks, the shield flickered violently. Several Deathbound soldiers responsible for maintaining it had blood trickling from the corners of their mouths, their faces deathly pale.
He Feng crashed into the center of the female angels' assault formation like a meteor!
Boom!
A violent shock wave exploded from the point of impact, sending several nearby female angels flying. The Sword of Royal Authority transformed into a curtain of liquid-gold light—the radiance of death!
Hiss—hiss—hiss—hiss!
Wherever the sword-light reached, severed limbs flew through the air!
The sturdy light armor was torn apart like paper!

The Flame Swords raised in an attempt to block him shattered one after another!
In the space of a single breath, the elite assault formation composed of dozens of battle-hardened veterans was forcibly pierced through and dismembered by He Feng. The few survivors were swiftly finished off by the Deathbound soldiers.
Yet at the very moment He Feng eliminated that threat, several equally ferocious shock waves erupted almost simultaneously on the left flank, above, and below.
The female angels were throwing their lives into the breach, using suicidal charges to wear down the Deathbound Army's defenses and drain He Feng's strength.
“Gah!”
A Deathbound veteran was struck by several intersecting arcs of Flame Sword energy. His sturdy Silver Alloy breastplate melted and was pierced through.
He let out a muffled groan of pain as the immense impact hurled him backward into the cold hull of a transport ship. Blood instantly splashed across the wall.
He struggled to rise, only to be hacked to pieces by a storm of blades from the female angels surging in behind him.
The defensive line had suffered its first breach!
Like a crack splitting open in a dam, the surging crimson tide instantly found an outlet.
More female angels, their eyes red, rushed toward the breach like sharks that had scented blood.
“Seal it!”
The nearby Deathbound officer, eyes bulging with fury, led the reserve troops in a furious charge.
Close-quarters combat!
The most primitive and brutal form of blade-to-blade warfare erupted in an instant!
Silver Alloy battle swords and Flame Swords collided and tore at one another with savage force.
The glow of energy shields intertwined with the sight of flesh flying through the air.
Roars, screams, the clash of weapons, the explosions of energy—all merged into a dirge from hell!
Neither side had anywhere left to retreat. One fought to defend a hard-won victory; the other fought simply to survive.
Cold radiance burst from He Feng's eyes. He stamped once against the void, and his figure appeared above the torn-open breach as if by teleportation.
“Get out of my way!”
His low, icy shout exploded like thunder.
The Sword of Royal Authority descended through the air, carrying the will to sever all things!
A hundred-meter-long arc of liquid-gold sword energy, condensed to the utmost degree, crashed down like a colossal ax splitting heaven and earth!
Boom!!!
A terrifying storm of sword energy instantly swept across dozens of meters around the breach!
Every female angel caught within it—whether first-generation or second-generation, whatever she had been doing—was pulverized and vaporized inch by inch beneath that annihilating pressure, as though fed into a meat grinder.

Even the enormous fragments of transport-ship armor beneath them were instantly reduced to dust!
The lingering force of the sword strike slammed into the energy barriers on either side, raising violent ripples of power, as if the entire Eternal Gorge were trembling beneath its might.
That single strike cleared everything around the breach and temporarily halted the momentum of the female angels' assault.
But the price was immense.
He Feng hovered in midair, his chest rising and falling slightly. That strike had contained a tremendous expenditure of power and mental will. Even for him, it had taken a toll.
A fine, almost imperceptible crack had appeared on the shoulder plate of his Sky King Armor, at the spot where several Flame Swords had struck it simultaneously.
Though the armor's own energy flow repaired it in an instant, it was unmistakably a warning: even the strongest defense had its limits before an endless tide of attacks.
Aboard the Apocalypse, Liang Bing saw that crack. Though tiny, it shone like the first glimmer of dawn in the darkness.
A trace of sick delight finally appeared on her twisted face. Her voice sharpened into a shrill cry as excitement warped its pitch.
“See that?! He gets tired too! His turtle shell isn't invincible!
“Keep charging, damn you! Hit him harder! Don't stop! Use your lives! Drain him dry! Tear him apart!
“Storm those transport ships! Drag out those sky-scum whelps!
“Kill them!!!”
The female angels' charge grew even more frenzied and reckless.
They trampled over the still-warm corpses of their comrades and fragments of shattered armor, surging like a raging white tsunami. Wave after wave crashed without end against the seemingly tottering yet eternally unyielding reef of the Deathbound Army's defensive line.
He Feng drew a deep breath and forcibly suppressed that trace of fatigue. He lowered his head and glanced at the enemy blood flowing along the Sword of Royal Authority in his hand—blood that seemed as though it would never run dry.
The liquid-gold blade remained brilliant, radiating a cold and imposing light. It reflected in his eyes, deep as abysses, where an unquenchable war-fire now burned.
The profound chaos at the entrance to the Boundary Sea had become a little clearer in his vision.
Time was still passing.
He raised his head and swept his gaze across the white figures surging toward him once more like a tide, carrying boundless hatred and an absolute will to destroy.
Starlight flowed across the patterns of the Sky King Armor. The edge of the Sword of Royal Authority pointed toward the enemy.
He said nothing.
He took one step forward and once again transformed into a streak of white-gold radiance tearing through the bloody waves, crashing headlong into that still more violent, still more frenzied tide of death!
The sword-light rose once more!
The blood tide soared to the heavens!
Before the final bastion, the God of War danced alone, staining the Gate of the Boundary Sea with blood!
