Chapter Thirty-Seven: Selling Ape Meat
Bang!
The first stone came crashing down, but the ape nimbly dodged it with its two long arms.
Liang Yi knew there was no chance he would hit it with his first throw, so he immediately hurled a second stone.
The ape’s simple mind had not expected the second stone to fall so quickly. Caught completely off guard, it was struck, and its body began sliding uncontrollably downward.
However, the ape was indeed in remarkably good physical condition. Even as it slid, it did not—
“What a pity. It’s only First Rank. If it were Second Rank, there might still be a sliver of hope!” the burly man in beast hide lamented inwardly.
Ji Yun Zhe’s body stiffened for a moment. After a long pause, he nodded, shut down the computer, turned around, picked up Su Xiao Xiao, and carried her toward the bedroom.
The man was in his fifties. Frowning, he paced back and forth as though he had not noticed Geng Qiang and the others approaching him at all.
“Haha, haha! I understand now. I understand why this fellow looks like this and can’t move a muscle! He’s been poisoned!” Geng Qiang pointed at Ye Yi Qing, who was standing right in front of them.
Chu He Meng nodded through her tears. Then, with a loud thud, Xing Hao Dong picked up a thick wooden club and knocked Chu Huai unconscious.
In the end, Xu Feng adopted the attitude that he would come up with the idea while they could decide how to carry it out. He poured all his thoughts onto the page, clicked send to Duan Ren Feng Han, and then left the matter entirely alone.
Even babies born seven months prematurely could survive. Their child was only half a month short of full term.
That nightmare-like monster spread open its five hands—or rather, it seemed to have four arms and one leg. Compared with its other four limbs, the fifth limb, positioned directly beneath that pouch-like head, appeared somewhat thicker and sturdier.
The two embraced one another, turning step by step in perfect unison. Her movements were beautiful, and paired with Yi Hao Nan’s footwork, the two of them became the center of attention in the entire hall.
“Then go ahead, and be careful on the way. Oh, and remember to bring plenty of money. A man can’t go out without cash in his pocket. You’ll need money to treat people to meals and have fun!” Xu Feng’s mother immediately began admonishing him.
To love others with benevolence, to cherish all and oppose aggression—the word “love” might have held a somewhat different meaning in Yao Ji’s understanding, but it was certainly a good word.
He stole a glance at his third uncle and saw that the old man was thoroughly enjoying the flattery. He therefore came straight to the point and voiced his thoughts.
Sherbakov suspected that he had seen incorrectly. He rubbed his eyes and looked up at the sky again, but the disk had vanished.
That gentle warmth, along with a faintly elegant, intellectual air, would not strike people with overwhelming force at first sight. Yet the longer one looked, the softer it became, and the harder it was to tear oneself away.
Zhao Xuan had not originally wanted to make such a fuss, but Lin Cheng and Fatty Zhang laughed and said that only a large crowd could make the occasion lively and grand. Wang Hui had just returned from the gates of hell—she had, in a sense, “come back to the world of the living”—so naturally, the livelier the better. The two shameless fellows refused to leave him alone, and Zhao Xuan had no idea how to turn them down.
“There are quite a few rooms behind the county office. Take Hall Master Hou and the others inside so they can wash up and rest first. We’ll examine their injuries afterward,” Zhang Ning instructed calmly.
“I’ve already had three bottles. Don’t you remember?” I pointed toward the bottles on the table and bluffed.
Upon hearing the news, Jiang Zhi Qing let out a long breath. Looking at everyone, he forced out the faintest smile.
But today, a team cancer had actually accomplished it. Although Zhang Kong had scored a double-double of ten points and ten rebounds in a single quarter over Randolph, and the Cavaliers were already leading the Knicks by twelve points, thirty-seven to twenty-five, it appeared that dealing with the Knicks would be an effortless task.
At that time, Zhao Xuan had not only instructed Ye Hong Ji and the others back home, as well as the weapons dealers and Wu Qing Yun, to lend their assistance; even Dirk in America and the Fang family back home had joined forces, doing their utmost to block any information about Zhao Xuan contained in those on-site photographs.
