Letter of Apology
I am truly sorry, but in the end, I have decided to abandon this project.
The performance has been far too poor. Despite it being the National Day holiday recently, my new daily subscriptions have only been hovering around 400, and the retention rate for follow-up chapters has plummeted to 60. On top of that, my chronic lower back pain has flared up, making it physically painful to type. I have decided to take this opportunity to cut it short.
I am truly sorry!
Once again, I would like to summarize a few of my shortcomings:
(1) The plot was lackluster. While many consider the "slap-in-the-face" tropes toxic, without them, the story became bland and tasteless, like chewing wax. It only drove more readers away. I committed a major taboo by keeping the protagonist isolated, lacking supporting characters to provide contrast.
(2) The narrative was tedious and thin. It was constant monster-slaying with too little conflict. This stems from my initial world-building; the foundation was flawed, making it nearly impossible to fix in the later stages.
(3) The characters were stiff. I aimed for "cold-blooded and decisive," but the result was "rigid, wooden, and robotic," which is very unappealing to readers.
Finally, I would like to offer my apologies to my three Hall Masters—Kangmeng Baby Let's Go, Mo Jian Cang Feng, and Yi Ke Xiao Cao 1314—as well as all the other readers who supported me with tips and subscriptions. I am truly sorry. However, an author is only human; I cannot survive on passion alone. With these results, I see no hope for the future. I am deeply sorry, and I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me!
