Chapter 032: The Green Tea Sister Takes Action
While Cooper was exhausting himself with intense mental effort and eventually fainting, things began to look up for Le Kang. The million-dollar wager from the call-out and reveal team ignited a blazing topic—pouring a barrel of fuel onto the fire of Le Kang’s magic popularity. People loved the spectacle, and now his YouTube channel boasted 800,000 subscribers, with a million well within reach. His Twitter followers climbed to half a million, and TikTok, riding the wave of short-form video, was the first to hit the million mark.
This explosive growth in followers, like mushrooms after a rainstorm, made Sandra green with envy. Unlike the population dividend in China, with its billion netizens, America had just over three hundred million. To have fifty or sixty thousand followers on social media was already impressive; a million was extraordinary, especially with better monetization channels—ads, promotions, or, for the clever, launching products for their fans. Life was indeed becoming more comfortable.
Le Kang was now in a mode where he could gain followers with his eyes closed. Sandra had never seen fame come so easily, as natural as eating and drinking. Her attention to him grew, convinced that such a man was high-quality in every sense—talented, capable, and worthy of holding on to.
Meanwhile, Daisy, the sweet but scheming younger sister, remained biding her time. She didn’t believe she had lost; after all, men with any talent always had a rotating cast of girlfriends. Faithful men existed, but in the open environment of entertainment, they were nearly endangered species. Marriages and divorces happened overnight, and dating a few partners was entirely normal.
Daisy continued playing the role of the obedient little sister. Whenever Sandra spent the night with him, Daisy would comfort her brother, “She’s a bit headstrong, but with a man like you at her side, she’s truly lucky.” There was a hint of tea in her words, but Le Kang found it palatable. After all, too much rich food required a change—a sip of tea to refresh the spirit.
He was content to let Daisy keep flirting. When he went to the girls’ house for dinner, Daisy sat opposite him. Conversation at the table was normal among the three, but under the table, Daisy’s restless long legs, clad in black stockings, stretched over to tease him, even slipping into his lap. Her face feigned innocence, but Le Kang quietly enjoyed these risqué games, their glances crossing occasionally—Daisy seemed to know exactly what he liked.
After dinner, they settled who would wash the dishes with a game of hand gestures. Le Kang lost again, and Sandra laughed, “For a magician of many tricks, you’re adorably bad at this game.”
“Shouldn’t you be enthusiastically standing behind me now, hugging me as we wash together?”
“No! Washing dishes isn’t sexy! I’m going to shower, then help you relax in much better ways—I’ve learned some great massage techniques lately…” Her words sped up, becoming increasingly suggestive.
“Ugh… I can’t listen to this anymore!” Daisy couldn’t take it and dashed to her room.
Le Kang obediently went to the kitchen to wash the dishes, but soon saw Daisy peek out, tiptoeing quietly behind him.
“Hey!”
He knew she was there, but played along with a startled gasp.
“So fake!” she pouted, turning her back to the sink. “Want to play a game?”
“What kind of game?” He wiped his hands with a napkin.
She whispered in his ear, “Whoever gets caught has to be at the mercy of the other. I’ll start!”
As soon as she finished, Le Kang reached out to grab her, but she twisted away and darted off. Of course, he chased her—catching her meant cornering her for a bit of fun. Daisy would look up at him with innocent eyes, letting him touch her but not daring to protest, especially since Sandra was still in the shower.
Le Kang thought Daisy was more of a “Japanese veteran” than he was—a missed lesson in his past life now made up in this one. To be fair, Daisy had a great figure; not quite Sandra’s walking hormone, but she had the slim waist and long legs prized in Eastern aesthetics. The key was her well-toned hips, making her all the more alluring. With her blonde hair, blue eyes, and all-American sweetheart face, she truly was a fine cup of tea.
“Don’t do this, big brother! She’ll find out!” Daisy whispered anxiously as she hugged him from behind, a cup of tea that knew how to stir desire.
Le Kang didn’t care; if she dared to tease him, he wasn’t letting her off. He pulled her into a corner and pressed his advantage, finally making Daisy genuinely nervous.
She hadn’t expected him to be so bold! But nothing truly dangerous happened—Sandra was soaking in a bubble bath, preparing for her own showdown, blissfully unaware that her cake had already been nibbled.
After their mischief, Daisy scampered off like a cat that had stolen fish, blowing him a kiss before closing her door, leaving the living room quiet. Le Kang opened the balcony door for some fresh air—after all, he felt a bit guilty—then returned to Sandra’s room, ready for the next round.
The greatest advantage of youth was energy, always ready at a moment’s notice, not needing the long recovery time of middle-aged men, let alone unable to go a second round. Such concerns didn’t apply to Le Kang—he was here to live life to the fullest; being too restrained would be a waste of being reborn in America.
However, having taken advantage, he knew he should offer something in return. There wasn’t much romance here—if he claimed to love them all, it would be a lie even he couldn’t stomach. Modern young people were far more open about such matters, especially in Hollywood, where innocence didn’t survive.
Still, everyone had needs. Taking advantage too much wasn’t good; Le Kang decided to give Daisy a chance. He was planning a stage magic act that required a couple of assistants. Everyone knew the magician's assistants were always attractive, fiery young women—first for the visual appeal, second for distracting the audience and helping with sleight of hand.
Le Kang didn’t need the second point, but adding some spice to the stage was welcome—better than having everyone stare at him the whole time. A beautiful woman dancing or showing off some tricks could fill time, much like web novel authors padding their word count.
So he messaged Daisy about his idea, asking her opinion.
How could Daisy object? She’d watched Sandra's TikTok followers rocket from tens of thousands to over a hundred thousand, all thanks to Le Kang’s exposure. Daisy had made videos with him too, but Sandra was gifted—everyone wanted to know her name, not Daisy’s, which made Daisy anxious.
Now that Le Kang was offering her a chance, she had to prepare a few impressive outfits. Would he prefer a maid, an office lady, or another cosplay? The scheming younger sister started plotting her next move.
