When it comes to shamelessness, you're not even in the same league.
"Hahaha, it seems Young Master Lin Yang is also a man of refined tastes!" As soon as he stepped through the door and saw the several beauties chatting intimately on the living room sofa—especially Zhu Yunyun, who was uncharacteristically clad in rather revealing attire—Fang Tianyou chuckled, completely misinterpreting the situation.
However, upon recognizing the true identities of the young women, the expression on his face twitched slightly.
Tang Yixue, daughter of the Tang family in Yinchuan; Zhu Yunyun, daughter of the Jinhai Municipal Party Committee Secretary; Bai Jing, the future successor and current vice general manager of the Bai family's Hundred Fortune Pharmaceuticals; Leng Niuniu, the rebellious daughter of the Leng family in Jiangning who had fled from an arranged marriage. Aside from the mother and daughter who had just moved into the villa, Fang Tianyou could probably name every single beautiful woman present.
As for Su Xiaodong, who was hovering around the young women and trying to curry favor, Fang Tianyou naturally recognized him as well. Yet, compared to the ethereal beauties, Su Xiaodong's presence was easily relegated to the background.
Very few of those present actually knew Fang Tianyou. Only Su Xiaodong and Zhu Yunyun recognized him. Su Xiaodong, whose nature was always uninhibited and who rarely bothered to think deeply, did not appear overly surprised by Fang Tianyou's arrival.
In contrast, Zhu Yunyun, who moved in municipal political circles and whose father was the Municipal Party Secretary, reacted much more strongly. Glaring at the incoming Fang Tianyou, her eyes burned with intense hostility. *Why is it him?* the question echoed in the depths of her mind.
The depth of Zhu Yunyun's hostility toward Fang Tianyou could likely be traced back to a battle of wits and courage between Fang Tianyou and her father a year prior. Her father had suffered a crushing defeat in that encounter. Everything had been prepared to arrest Fang Tianyou and bring him to justice, but a dramatic twist occurred. Fang Tianyou had somehow discovered her father's movements in advance and manipulated things behind the scenes, shifting the blame onto an entirely unrelated person. This caused her father to misjudge the situation, ultimately sparking a massive uproar. Fortunately, her father had not committed an unforgivable blunder; the innocent bystander had only been detained for a few days, and the matter was finally settled through extra compensation and negotiations without turning into a major disaster. Even so, her father had still received a fierce tongue-lashing from his superiors and had been suspended for a few days. It was only natural that she harbored a deep grudge against the man standing before her.
Noticing the profound hostility radiating from Zhu Yunyun, who looked ready to leap forward and bite him, Fang Tianyou chose to ignore it. Instead, he flashed a cheeky, playful grin and teased, "Oh, if it isn't the great beauty Zhu Yunyun! To be able to see such a stunning beauty here, I suddenly feel profoundly blessed."
Faced with Fang Tianyou's blatant, insincere flattery, Zhu Yunyun let out a disdainful cold snort. She turned her head toward the window, utterly unwilling to pay any attention to this glib-tongued fellow who looked to be in his thirties.
"Ah, angry, are we? Alas! It seems I must be terribly ugly, seeing as Miss Zhu can't even bear to cast a single glance my way. I can't go on like this, I simply can't go on," Fang Tianyou muttered to himself, completely oblivious to any sense of decorum. He shifted into a bizarre, self-deprecating routine that was genuinely nauseating.
Having already witnessed Fang Tianyou's shamelessness and volatile personality outside, Lin Yang did not show any sign of surprise. Su Xiaodong, however, who had some prior contact with Fang Tianyou but wasn't very familiar with him, dropped his jaw in utter disbelief.
Fang Tianyou was entirely unconcerned with whether the others welcomed him. Without waiting for an invitation, he plopped down onto a spacious sofa, picked up a teacup from the table—completely ignoring the possibility that someone else had touched it—and gulped down the remaining liquid in one go. When he finished, he made a loud, appreciative smack of his lips. His utter lack of self-awareness was truly grating.
Yet, since Lin Yang, the master of the house, said nothing, the others present naturally found it difficult to voice any criticism of the visitor's bad manners.
Seated beside Tang Yixue, Lin Yang watched Fang Tianyou, who was now casually attempting to shower Leng Niuniu with flattery. Lin Yang asked in a deep voice, "Spit it out! Don't waste everyone's time. It's already very late, and we still need to sleep."
Frivolous, utterly shameless, scheming, and roguish—every derogatory term used to describe a scoundrel could be heaped onto this fellow, and it still wouldn't fully capture his wretched and dissolute nature.
"Oh, you all sleep together? Haha, I never realized you were such a powerhouse, kid! You can handle so many beauties all by yourself? Aren't you afraid of draining your vitality and dying from sexual exhaustion?" His unbridled, vulgar remarks nearly provoked Lin Yang into getting up and punching him. Yet, completely oblivious to the danger, Fang Tianyou continued running his mouth with uninhibited nonsense. "Impressive, impressive, kid, you're just too strong! Ah, I could never manage it. I'm old and useless now; these days, just one woman can wear me out."
"Can you share your secret for lasting so long and staying strong?..." Fang Tianyou chattered on, entirely ignoring the murderous glares directed at him by the group.
If he allowed this fellow to keep babbling nonsense, Lin Yang feared he might actually commit murder. *Bang!* He brought his palm down heavily on the table, fixing his murderous gaze on the motormouth Fang Tianyou. Coldly, in a low voice brimming with lethal intent, he warned, "If you utter a single more piece of nonsense, see if I don't kick you flying out that door right now."
Fang Tianyou's words caught abruptly in his throat. His face flushed a deep red. Meeting Lin Yang's lethal gaze, he finally quieted down, offering a cheeky, peace-making apology. "Ah, slip of the tongue, total slip of the tongue! Whenever I see beauties, the nonsense just pours right out. My apologies, my apologies."
If not for the fact that he hadn't yet figured out Fang Tianyou's true background and intentions, Lin Yang would have long since thrown a vicious punch to send the fellow's two front teeth packing.
"You don't need me to remind you again, do you? State your business honestly! It really is getting late," Lin Yang reminded him in a deep voice, symbolically turning his head to glance at the dim crescent moon hanging outside.
Seemingly cowed at last by Lin Yang's repeated, chilling rebukes, Fang Tianyou straightened up. Wiping the wicked smile from his face, he looked squarely at Lin Yang with a deadpan, serious expression and said in a low voice, "Hand over what you took from Fang Muren, and our Fang family will no longer pursue the matter of his assassination."
Concise and to the point, yet dripping with arrogance. Fang Tianyou was attempting to use a dead man to blackmail them into surrendering evidence that threatened the very foundations of the Fang family. Naturally, Lin Yang was not foolish enough to make such an exchange, and he refused without a moment's hesitation.
"Impossible. In that case, I'll spare you the trouble of being seen out." Unimpressed by Fang Tianyou's overbearing and arrogant demeanor, Lin Yang issued a direct order for him to leave.
Seeming to have anticipated Lin Yang's answer all along, Fang Tianyou's expression remained completely unchanged. Even with Lin Yang's formidable spiritual perception, he could not sense the slightest ripple of emotion from the man. It had to be said that this seemingly split-personality fellow was truly no ordinary adversary.
"Does Miss Bai feel the same way?" Seeing that Lin Yang's stance was rock-solid, Fang Tianyou suddenly turned his head toward Bai Jing, who had been sitting quietly to the side. He sneered, his tone cold, haughty, and laced with thinly veiled threats.
Sudden as the question was, Bai Jing was momentarily taken aback. From the moment Fang Tianyou had entered, she hadn't paid him the slightest heed. Ever since securing that massive injection of capital, her mind had been entirely consumed by how to best utilize the funds to accelerate their attacks against the Fang family and Fang Yu Pharmaceuticals, causing her to overlook the sudden visit of this core member of the Fang clan.
"Your affairs have nothing to do with me. Don't bother me." Bai Jing proved to be utterly direct. After all, she was completely unfamiliar with this glib-tongued, motor-mouthed fellow, so her attitude was naturally frosty. Having delivered her response, she ignored Fang Tianyou entirely, turning her back to him to resume pondering her problems and searching for a more viable strategy.
Finding no breakthrough with the two beauties, Fang Tianyou shifted his attention back to Lin Yang, knowing that the young man was the one who ultimately called the shots and held sway here.
"Name your conditions, then! Let me see them. If they're reasonable, I won't be stingy. After all, we're currently on the defensive. However, if you truly believe those items alone are enough to bring down the Fang family, then I'm terribly sorry to inform you: you are dead wrong." Alternating between coercion and temptation, Fang Tianyou was indeed clever—clearly a master of negotiation.
To walk single-handedly and fearlessly into someone else's territory while remaining this arrogant—Fang Tianyou was certainly a formidable character in his own right.
"Withdraw all of the Fang family's pharmaceutical and commercial operations from Jinhai, guarantee that you will never again encroach upon the Jinhai pharmaceutical industry, and pledge never to employ oppressive tactics against the Bai family's development in Jiangning," Lin Yang declared without batting an eye.
Making outrageous demands was something Lin Yang excelled at, and doing it one more time clearly didn't bother him. Since the man had invited him to name his terms, he might as well aim high. There was no harm in talking big; at the very least, Lin Yang believed he had nothing to lose.
"You...!"
Hearing Lin Yang's words, even Fang Tianyou—who prided himself on having a tolerance wider than the Pacific Ocean—felt a surge of genuine anger. He silently cursed, *Damn it, this kid is really pushing his luck! I was giving him a face-saving gesture to back down gracefully, and instead, he dares to make these exorbitant demands! He must have a death wish; does he have any idea who he's dealing with?*
"Hmph, don't push your luck! What you're asking for is pure absurdity. There's a limit to making outrageous demands. I hope you can show some sincerity; otherwise, the Fang family won't hesitate to resort to extreme measures." Fang Tianyou was truly provoked this time. The threats spilled from his lips with heightened harshness and unmistakable menace.
Threats? That was the one thing Lin Yang feared least. If a fight was what they wanted, he would be more than happy to oblige. Who knew, maybe through a brutal battle, his internal cultivation would break through? He understood the principle of finding rebirth through mortal peril better than anyone.
"You're the one who told me to name my conditions, and you're the one who told me to speak. Now that you think my demands are too outrageous, why did you bother asking in the first place? Why don't you just come right out and say the Fang family will resort to force if I refuse? There's no need to gild the lily and put on a facade of benevolence. Do you really think you're that invincible?" Lin Yang rebuked him with cold disdain, acting very much like a senior lecturing a junior.
Nothing is more infuriating than someone who drives you mad without a care in the world, and Lin Yang was giving Fang Tianyou a masterclass in that art. He wanted to show Fang Tianyou that when it came to shamelessness, "you still have a long way to go."
Watching Lin Yang and Fang Tianyou engage in a verbal tug-of-war where Fang Tianyou was clearly getting the worst of it, the onlookers couldn't help exchanging mocking glances. Their expressions practically said: *Old man, why on earth did you pick a verbal sparring match with this kid? Aren't you just asking to be humiliated?*
Perhaps seeing Fang Tianyou driven into such an awkward corner by Lin Yang instantly lifted the gloomy mood Zhu Yunyun had felt earlier when recalling unpleasant memories, leaving her with a powerful urge to step forward and hurl a few insults of her own.
"Don't push people too far! The Fang family is far more terrifying than you can possibly imagine," Fang Tianyou spat out in exasperation. Yes, pure exasperation—at least judging by his current expression, as he hurled another heavy threat that he clearly kept ready on his lips.
"Pushing people? I'm pushing you right now, so what are you going to do about it?" Lin Yang radiated overbearing arrogance, refusing to yield an inch. If he weren't tough on his own turf, wouldn't he just become a laughingstock?
*When it comes to being shameless, and when it comes to playing hardball, you're not even close,* Lin Yang muttered smugly to himself, entirely dismissing Fang Tianyou's murderous glare, though he remained thoroughly vigilant against any sudden moves. After all, the fellow before him was essentially a lion ready to pounce at any second.
