Chapter 116: She Is the Culprit

Qu Yiqiu ground her teeth and asked fiercely.
“Black Wart Stone, known as the Rock of Hell, calms the soul and chills the flesh. Had you awakened a moment later, this body would have been ruined,” Su Xichen replied coldly.
Qu Yiqiu’s eyes widened in disbelief at his words.
The bone-chilling cold made her tremble; she hurriedly ignited the Indigo Phoenix Fire within her dantian to roast herself from within, yet still felt no warmth.
This man knew so well the function of the black brick, yet he had let her lie there for so long—utterly cold and heartless!
No wonder everyone believed that what happened years ago at Half-Step City was his doing, deliberately abandoning the most competitive junior apprentice brother, Mo Qingli, to die inside the city!
Thinking of this, Qu Yiqiu’s gaze grew increasingly wary as she looked at Su Xichen.
His presence here could hardly be a good omen!
A faint, chilly breeze brushed past, causing goosebumps to rise on her skin. She hugged herself tightly and crouched in a corner, curling into a ball.
“Master, are you alright?” Little Yan asked with concern.
Qu Yiqiu bit her lip silently, watching Su Xichen turn away, and said, “I’m fine. Do you know where we are?”
Little Yan shook his head in confusion and guessed, “Master, this place seems dangerous. Do you know the male cultivator who saved you?”
Qu Yiqiu snorted disdainfully, aching at her disfigured nose, and said, “That man is nominally my master’s senior brother, but the two families are at odds and are now rivals!”
Right—hadn’t Su Xichen been secluded at the Nine Sword Peak all this time? How did he end up here?
As her mind cleared, Qu Yiqiu looked at the sealed black stone walls around her and felt a creeping dread.
She shivered involuntarily and suddenly asked, “Little Yan, you said he saved me?”
“Yes, there are many demonic creatures here,” Little Yan said, still uneasy.
He thought he might have to change masters again, but he was very satisfied with this one!
Qu Yiqiu’s expression froze. “Demonic creatures? What kind of demonic creatures?”
“Hmm… they should be a type of Heavenly Demon, but weaker than the true Heavenly Demons,” Little Yan continued to observe Su Xichen’s every move. “Master said that Master Su is currently slaying a Nameless Demon Head.”
After circulating the Indigo Phoenix Fire for some time, Qu Yiqiu finally felt much more comfortable.
Her eyes flicked with curiosity as she stood and walked toward the only exit.
Before she could see Su Xichen, she already sensed a heavy, malevolent aura spreading all around.

“A Nameless Demon Head? There’s actually such a thing here!” Qu Yiqiu was startled.
When she was young, she had heard stories about the Heavenly Demons, who once coexisted with their kind in the Five Elements Realm during ancient times. Legend had it that humanity’s fortune flourished then, but they could not match the innate talents and divine powers of the Heavenly Demons. On top of that, the Heavenly Demons created sacred-level demonic arts that surpassed all other races, inciting endless wars.
Eventually, the Heavenly Demons were banished from the Five Elements Realm and forced to survive in spatial rifts, waiting for their chance to exact vengeance.
Now, the Five Elements Realm no longer contained the old races, but the stories of the Heavenly Demons still circulated.
“I just hope it’s not the true Heavenly Demons appearing here,” Qu Yiqiu prayed instinctively.
Little Yan tilted his head. “But Master, it seems there’s no way out of here, and those Nameless Demon Heads appear outside the prison every day.”
Qu Yiqiu was stunned. “They come every day? Why can’t we leave?”
“That Master Su has apparently been here for quite a while, repeating the same task daily—standing guard beside you for several days, yet he hasn’t found a way out,” Little Yan said seriously.
Qu Yiqiu was even more astonished. “You mean Su Xichen can’t leave either?”
Little Yan nodded.
At that moment, Su Xichen’s wide sleeves unleashed countless golden arrows, annihilating all the Nameless Demon Heads. He stood coldly on a golden cloud, watching her.
Despite her many questions, Qu Yiqiu dared not continue talking with Little Yan under his watchful gaze.
“Master Su, why are you staring at me like that?”
Su Xichen shot a floral arrow that passed by her ear as a sharp cry rang out. Qu Yiqiu glanced sideways to see a shadow dissipating nearby.
She felt slightly embarrassed—it wasn’t her he was watching.
Her vigilance heightened, and she wrapped her divine sense tightly around her surroundings to prevent another sneak attack by the demon heads.
After defeating them, Su Xichen still looked at her, and the two shared a silent, lingering gaze.
“How did you get in here?” he asked.
Qu Yiqiu feared that if he didn’t ask, he might just abandon her here.
Still, it was a question she wanted to answer.
What could she say?
Under his gaze, she remained silent for a moment before saying, “A whirlpool suddenly appeared beneath my feet and brought me here.”
“A whirlpool? So you don’t know why you appeared here either?” Su Xichen’s tone was indifferent.

Qu Yiqiu’s heart flared with inexplicable anger.
What terrible luck had she fallen into, to encounter Su Xichen in such a desperate place!
“Master Su is right. I don’t know how I ended up here. Do you have any way out? My strength isn’t nearly enough to slay demons like you can!”
As she spoke, a trace of dissatisfaction crept into her tone. She looked at him with a comically raised, disfigured nose.
Su Xichen’s indifferent gaze swept over her flattened nose and then moved to the storage pouch hanging from her waist. He said, “Hand over your storage pouch to me. Perhaps I can find a way out.”
Qu Yiqiu and Little Yan both widened their eyes.
An unrivaled Nascent Soul Master of equal rank was greedily demanding a junior’s storage pouch?
Such shamelessness was unparalleled in the world.
If her master, Mo Qingli, were here, he would have simply taken out his own storage pouch for her to use!
Noticing her hand covering the pouch, Su Xichen said calmly, “If you’re unwilling, then forget it.”
Qu Yiqiu bit her lip, unwilling but resolute. She grabbed the pouch and threw it to Su Xichen. “As long as Master Su can get me out of here, a small storage pouch is nothing.”
Su Xichen’s eyes flickered slightly as a golden light enveloped the pouch.
“It will take some time. Wait here in the cell for me.”
Qu Yiqiu’s expression darkened but she obeyed, “Understood, disciple awaits orders.”
Su Xichen showed no reaction to her strange tone and turned away, drifting off without a trace.
Hesitant, Qu Yiqiu watched him leave and tentatively took a few steps forward, only to hear the sharp clink of iron chains beneath her feet.
Little Yan sensed and spread his perception, revealing two massive silver chains wrapped around Qu Yiqiu’s jade-like ankles. At the other ends were the bars of the cell she had just stepped out from.
He exclaimed in surprise, “Master, how did you become a prisoner?”
