Something strange happened today.

Wang Xiao's bone hut vanished!

This was truly bizarre!

Even Little Bone was missing, leaving behind only a trail of footprints on the ground.

Each footprint was enormous, as thick as a person’s waist.

Judging by the distance between the prints, whatever creature made them was no small beast.

The gap between the first two was at least twenty meters wide, and about twenty-five meters from front to back.

Seeing the depth of the impressions, it was clear the creature was tremendously heavy!

“How odd, why didn’t the Dark Knight react?” Wang Xiao wondered aloud.

By all rights, if some other creature had invaded, the Dark Knight should have attacked, but there were not the slightest signs of a struggle.

“Exactly, nothing’s missing from the farm either,” Xia Mengsi said, pointing toward the fields.

Aside from the livestock in the greenhouse cowering in a corner in fright, everything else remained as it had been.

Yang Ming’s eye twitched; his own little cabin had been shoved far afield, its surface scored with long scratches.

“You’ve got it easy. My house is gone entirely. Who am I supposed to complain to?” Wang Xiao said, clearly distressed.

“Ah! Ah! Ah!” Xia Mengsi cried out.

They’d only just escaped from living in tents—would they have to return to that life so soon?

Wang Xiao squatted at the spot where the bone hut had stood, searching for something.

“What are you looking for, Brother Wang?” Ji Weijie came over.

“Little Bone,” Wang Xiao replied.

“If we can’t find Little Bone, there’ll be no good meals in the future.”

That statement certainly got a reaction from Xia Mengsi and Yang Ming.

The two joined the search, but all they saw was Wang Xiao digging in the dirt.

“What are you doing?” they asked.

Wang Xiao didn’t look up. “This is where Little Bone slept last night.”

The others began searching for any sign of Little Bone as well.

The earth was hard—utterly different from the rich soil of the farm.

They turned over every inch where the bone hut had stood, but found no sign of Little Bone.

Everyone grew a bit dispirited. Other than Wang Xiao, they all gave up searching.

Seeing Wang Xiao like this, the others didn’t know what to say.

Just then, a heavy sound echoed through the air.

But the source was nowhere to be seen.

Was that monster back again?

Wang Xiao stood up, staring in the direction of the sound.

Yang Ming and the others drew their weapons, preparing for a fight.

A massive figure appeared in their line of sight, its hulking form casting a shadow over the road ahead.

This was by far the largest living creature any of them had ever seen.

Their grips tightened on their weapons; if it came to a fight, it would be a brutal one.

As they got a clearer look, they realized it was a giant, turtle-like beast.

But unlike any turtle, this enormous creature was made entirely of bone!

Terrifying and exquisite at once.

It looked more like a work of art than a monster.

When the creature saw Wang Xiao and his companions, it picked up speed!

Thud! Thud-thud! Thud-thud-thud!

A force, almost tangible, swept toward them—a sheer aura of power.

Stronger than a fourth-tier beast!

They would have to give it everything they had!

But before Yang Ming could act, a figure rushed forward at incredible speed.

“Wait—”

Xia Mengsi cut Yang Ming off, “That’s Little Bone.”

Ji Weijie looked as though he’d seen a ghost. That was Little Bone?

That enormous monster, and you’re telling me it’s Little Bone?

Little Bone stopped in front of Wang Xiao, raising its head and letting out a roar, as if showing off.

When it didn’t receive praise from its master, Little Bone lowered its head to see what Wang Xiao was doing—wasn’t it time to be complimented?

Bang!

Just as Little Bone lowered its head, a fist filled its vision, enlarging rapidly.

It was Wang Xiao. Before Little Bone could duck, Wang Xiao’s punch knocked its head upward again.

All I wanted was to lower my head—was it really that hard?

“Where’s my house?!”

Little Bone was baffled. What?

That was just a dead thing! Can’t you see I’m your pet?

Little Bone felt wronged. Was it really worth getting this upset over a house?

Wang Xiao glared. “Where did you put my house?”

“And now that you’ve become like this, who’s going to cook?”

What?

So I’m not even considered a combat asset now?

Fine, let me show you what I can do!

Little Bone lifted a forefoot and kicked Wang Xiao square in the chest.

Wang Xiao didn’t dodge, curious to test Little Bone’s strength.

The force was immense; Wang Xiao grunted and, just as expected, was sent flying.

Little Bone looked anxiously at its master, worried it had overdone it.

It hadn’t expected Wang Xiao to simply stand there and take the blow.

“What?”

“What?”

“What?”

Yang Ming and the others were just as taken aback—how had things suddenly devolved into a brawl?

Ji Weijie immediately suited up in his armor. How dare you kick my Brother Wang!

Wang Xiao climbed up from the ground, coughing. That hurt—a few ribs had snapped.

All right, if you want to play rough, I’ll show you why I’m your master. I’ve taken down more than a few like you before.

“Don’t get involved. Let me handle this myself!” he called.

Ji Weijie stopped, removing his armor.

Seeing his master was all right, Little Bone let out a delighted roar.

Of course, to Yang Ming and the others, it was just noise, but to Wang Xiao, it was pure provocation.

“Little Bone, don’t blame me for going hard on you,” Wang Xiao muttered.

Seeing the strange grin on Wang Xiao’s face, Little Bone froze. Maybe it should have gone all out earlier—he could still smile after that?

Wang Xiao activated his tattoo, and a huge exoskeleton appeared around his body.

His height shot up to five meters, but he was still dwarfed by Little Bone’s current size.

Wang Xiao hefted his massive hammer, ready to give Little Bone a proper thrashing.

He wasn’t worried about triggering any lethal effects, because he’d already checked Little Bone’s stats.

[Name: Bone King
Race: Undead
Level: Fourth Tier
Master: Wang Xiao
Abilities: Devour, Earthquake, Absolute Defense, Bone Manipulation, Death Immunity.
Evaluation: A dangerous creature that has begun to grow. A hundred years ago, you could bully it; a hundred years later, it’ll have you calling it ‘Daddy.’]

Raising the hammer high, Wang Xiao gathered his strength, eager to test the limits of Little Bone’s Absolute Defense.

Xia Mengsi stared, stunned—was Wang Xiao really going all out?

And from the look of it, he’d been holding back before.

When they’d gone hunting monsters together, he’d never seemed this strong, so she seriously suspected he’d been slacking off.

He finished charging up.

The hammer—thicker than even his transformed body—swung down toward Little Bone, slicing the air.

When it was twenty centimeters from Little Bone, a blue-white shield appeared, enveloping Little Bone entirely.

The hammer struck the shield with a thunderous boom, as if lightning had exploded right beside their ears!

“Impressive shell! You actually blocked my full-power blow.”

Though Wang Xiao said this, Little Bone didn’t relax—there was still that strange grin on Wang Xiao’s face.
