“If I went out and claimed to be a god, people might actually believe me,” Wang Xiao muttered to himself.

With a thought, Wang Xiao shifted into his demon form. His hair turned blood-red, and his once-holy and noble face became strikingly wicked and alluring. Even the wings on his back transformed, now glowing a deep crimson, giving him an otherworldly and menacing appearance. Unlike before, a new surge of power pulsed within him. As he circulated this energy, a wave of bloodlust seemed to boil beneath his skin.

Thump, thump, thump!

The surrounding stone walls began to sink. Wang Xiao understood that this must be the way out.

A ghostly blue light seeped through the opening, accompanied by a cacophony of voices drifting to Wang Xiao’s ears.

“Uh…”

Seeing the demons outside, Wang Xiao fell silent. They came in all shapes and sizes—three-headed hounds, minotaurs, and more. But what truly caught Wang Xiao’s attention was the fallen angel at the front.

The moment the two-winged fallen angel saw Wang Xiao, it dropped to its knees and declared, “Welcome, O Scion of the Demon Lord.”

Like a line of dominoes, the surrounding demons all knelt in unison.

Wang Xiao felt as if a thousand curses thundered through his mind.

To wake up and discover he’d become a demon—was this some kind of joke? And not just any demon, but the so-called Scion of the Demon Lord?

“Uh, there’s no need to be so formal,” Wang Xiao stammered.

The fallen angel’s eyes flickered. This newborn Scion of the Demon Lord was rather unusual. Still, it didn’t dwell on it, rising to its feet and saying, “Please, follow me, my lord.”

The crowd of demons parted to form a path, standing respectfully on either side. The fallen angel walked ahead to lead the way, and with nothing better to do, Wang Xiao followed, curious to see what kind of spectacle awaited him.

All the while, the demons watched him with eyes full of reverence and awe.

“Six wings! Just like the Great One!”

“Yes, and they’re blood-red! This lord must be incredibly powerful!”

“I’d love to follow such a master!”

“Why didn’t I think of that?”

“Let’s do it together. I’m sure this lord is immensely strong.”

Tsk, it’s the same everywhere, Wang Xiao thought. This damned charisma of mine.

Listening to the strange demons gossip about him, Wang Xiao couldn’t help but feel a little pleased.

“My lord, please,” the fallen angel said, extending a hand.

Wang Xiao looked up, his brows arched in surprise. Where did this mansion come from?

Seeing Wang Xiao hesitate, the fallen angel repeated, “Please, come in!”

Snapping out of his daze, Wang Xiao replied, “Oh! Alright!”

The lavish decor made Wang Xiao wonder if he was still dreaming. Only the enormous skulls mounted on the walls gave him pause.

As soon as he entered, voices rang out from both sides, welcoming the master home.

Wang Xiao glanced around—every one of them was a succubus! The sight of their figures almost made him drool.

And being greeted as “master” in unison brought a strange satisfaction.

“My lord, from today onward, this castle is yours,” the fallen angel announced. “I shall serve as your steward.”

Wang Xiao nodded. “Very well.”

The fallen angel looked at him expectantly, which puzzled Wang Xiao.

“Is there something else?”

With head bowed, the fallen angel said, “Please, master, grant me a name.”

Wang Xiao’s eyes widened—he had to give a name?

Oh well. He decided to pick something at random.

“Alright, then. From now on, you shall be called Nicholas Ada.”

As soon as Wang Xiao spoke, he felt a subtle connection form between himself and Ada.

Ada’s very life was now in Wang Xiao’s hands. The moment Ada received his name, the wings on his back gradually shifted to a pale red, and his hair, once black, faded to white. Ada could sense a surge of power coursing through him. Though he was still only a one-winged fallen angel, he was certain he could easily defeat any two-winged counterpart.

Unable to contain his joy, Ada exclaimed, “Thank you, master!”

Wang Xiao was stunned to see such a dramatic transformation. “Just serve me well from now on,” he said.

“Yes, my lord!” Ada replied with fervor.

Wang Xiao began to doubt his own existence, for he couldn’t even gauge how strong Ada had become. If they ever fought, he doubted he could withstand even a single attack.

The succubus servants, witnessing Ada’s transformation, gazed at him with strange, eager eyes. Their hearts raced with excitement—if Wang Xiao ever felt inclined to name them as well, wouldn’t they soar to new heights?

Ada turned to Wang Xiao and respectfully said, “Master, tomorrow I shall escort you to the Demon Academy for registration. For now, please rest and make yourself comfortable.”

Wang Xiao waved them off. “You’re all dismissed. I need some rest.”

Back in his room, the oversized bed tempted Wang Xiao to roll about several times. Lying flat, his eyes landed on a bookshelf, sparking his curiosity.

“Demon Compendium.”

He opened the book and began to read with great interest.

After who knows how long, Wang Xiao closed the compendium.

“So those weren’t even real demons,” he sighed.

It turned out that those so-called fourth- or fifth-tier “demons” were nothing of the sort—just lowly vermin.

“No wonder that raven demon said there were only ten true demons in a region. So that’s how it is.”
